Turning the chaos of child healthcare into a clear, trusted daily routine.
Mahd is a digital child health companion designed for the MENA region, built around two real, interconnected user groups: parents struggling to manage their child's health journey, and pediatricians overwhelmed by unstructured after-hours communication. Originally launched in Egypt and later adapted for the Iranian market, the project was developed for a freelance client operating across both regions.
The work followed a complete Design Thinking process, from quantitative surveys, in-depth interviews with both parents and pediatricians, and competitive SWOT analysis of four existing tracking apps, through affinity mapping, dual personas, empathy maps, and parallel user journeys for each side of the platform. Solutions were prioritized through a value/effort matrix and validated through a Value Proposition Canvas for both audiences, before moving into information architecture, user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity design.
The final product covers brand identity, a scalable design system built with Figma Variables, and a full mobile interface for parents including onboarding, profile setup, vaccination timeline, medical chat, reminders, and health tracking. Usability testing on the high-fidelity prototype directly informed the final visual and structural decisions, refining hierarchy, color logic, and progress feedback throughout the experience.
